Shadow of Broken Pieces is a poetry collection that
reflects on the different struggles we have had to
confront at all fronts of our lives. It is embedded with
the struggles of the soul, mind and body as well as
interpersonal and national struggles for the common
good of the entire human race. It is an indirect plea that
we all can be better humans on the face of the earth.
There are many unanswered questions herein that
will intriguingly call for debate and wide discussions
at different levels. Are we all at some point, in one way
or another, broken pieces that need to be mended?
Have you sometimes felt yourself or others shadows
of their true self? What is the essence of our being
if we cannot coexist and live harmoniously? Why
should we struggle for material wealth and yet take
none whatsoever to our final resting places? What is
virtue? Is there need to find a common good?
Therefore, this collection is an invitation to all humans
to rediscover our humanity and good will in all our
different ways of godliness. Although some poems
might come out as satirical, and thus inciting and
hurting, the main intention is to inspire unlearning
and relearning of the main fabrics of humanity and
human dignity. The poems should heal, teach and
soothe us at different levels and in different ways.
Enjoy your reading.
